ECLECTIC PEOPLE COLLECTIVE
JULIA BROWN, LPC-A, LMFT-A & SELENA TYLER, LPC-S
A SPACE FOR BELONGING, CONNECTION, & COMMUNITY.
We are therapists, healers, and helpers, and yet so often, we walk this path alone.
In a field that asks us to hold the deepest stories of others, it can be easy to feel unseen, unheard, or forgotten in our own humanity.
This space exists as a gentle refusal of that loneliness. It is a declaration that we, too, deserve to be held. Here, we choose connection over competition. Here, we believe that vulnerability is not weakness but courage. Here, we honor the truth that therapists need safe, nurturing spaces just as much as our clients do.
We are not here to fix one another. We are here to witness, to listen, to walk beside. Because even in a field built on connection, therapists can feel profoundly alone. And yet together, we can create a circle where that loneliness softens. This is our belonging. This is Eclectic People Collective.
THE REASON
After several experiences in “like-minded” therapist spaces where I felt unseen, excluded, or somehow not “enough” of a therapist to belong, I realized how many of us quietly carry that same feeling. The spaces meant for connection sometimes become places of comparison or quiet disconnection — and that can be deeply isolating for those of us doing the work of holding others.

This circle was born from a desire to create what I couldn’t find: a space where therapists can come exactly as they are. A space that honors the whole person — not just the professional identity. A place to exhale, to be real, and to belong without needing to prove or perform.

Therapists deserve community that feels safe, inclusive, and human. We need places where vulnerability is met with understanding, where our struggles are not seen as shortcomings, and where our care for others is mirrored back in the care we receive. This group is for those who have ever felt on the margins - too sensitive, too new, too different, or too weary to fit the mold. Here, you belong exactly as you are.

This is the intimate and sweet spot between social and consultation we often lose out on, connection with other humans who happen to be therapists too.
VALUES & GOAL
The goal of Eclectic People Collective is to foster a culture of genuine connection and belonging among therapists. It’s a space where vulnerability is met with support, where shared stories remind us we’re not alone, and where each voice is valued for the wisdom it carries. Here, we come together to exchange insight through storytelling, peer support, and compassionate listening. We focus not only on the healing work we offer to others, but on the practices that sustain us as healers. By nurturing an ongoing network of care, we aim to reduce the professional isolation so many therapists quietly experience and to remind each other that community is part of our wellness.

This space is guided by values that shape how we show up and how we hold one another. We stay open - always welcoming new faces and voices into the circle. We honor belonging as a birthright, knowing everyone deserves a place to feel at home. We lead with compassion, meeting each other with patience, kindness, and empathy. We practice authenticity, choosing honesty and vulnerability over perfection. We uphold inclusivity, ensuring that all identities, perspectives, and experiences are seen, respected, and valued. We believe in reciprocity, understanding that support is mutual and that giving and receiving exist in balance. We protect confidentiality and safety as the foundation of trust - what’s shared here stays here. And above all, we commit to sustainability - caring for ourselves and one another so that we can continue this meaningful work with presence, passion, and longevity
EVERY THIRD FRIDAY OF THE MONTH.
Our first meeting is October 24, 2025 5-7pm at Radio Coffee & Beer off Menchaca! Hope to see you there.
